512 RAM - everything works great considering that I dont play too many games. Anyway I have GTA San Andreas and Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay installed, they work at maximum settings. Oh..and windows Xp as my OS. Ubuntu 9.04 works great too :). I used to have 256 RAM and everything was OK, but sometimes it was slow .Probably I will upgrade my RAM because I want to try Windows 7. It worked with 512 RAM but I couldn't use Virtual Box so I uninstalled it. I like V. Box :P

You should consider running RAMdisk software for one or two of your programs. I don't think you could run a game in there, although you may be able to squeeze it in. :)

i have 8GB DDR2 1066MHz :P

i don't really know why i bought that much RAM.
i think originally for working with Blu-ray, but that never happened.

2GB used on desktop for me & 3.5GB when gaming, never really seen it go higher than that for me.
